WeDecide hosted Stefan Lindegaard for Open Innovation Workshop at Istanbul Nov 10th. 20 participants from 12 organizations participated in the workshop. We started with a brief introduction on WeDecide services, then a presentation by Stefan on what open innovation is and then workshop groups that discussed important issues for making open innovation a reality.

Three key messages were discussed:

#1 Internal – not external – factors make or break open innovation initiatives.

#2 Understanding, connecting and communicating with partners is key to open innovation success.

#3 Open innovation and social media are inseparable. You need to seed now to reap future benefits!

Stefan also talked about the different types of innovation and how important it is to pay attention to all of them.
